Windy City Bird Lab

The Windy City Bird Lab is housed in a corner of a 1964 building constructed by the Respiratory Health Association (RHA), then the Tuberculosis Institute of Chicago and Cook County, and originally founded as the Chicago Tuberculosis Institute. The Institute was a key partner in stewarding what would become the North Park Village campus, including the Nature Center, which is a crucial habitat for migratory birds. Windy City Bird Lab currently occupies a small section of what was previously a dialysis center. Visitors will have a chance to see what it takes to convert a building like this and fitting it with additional power and water infrastructure.
