DETAILS:

OPEN Center for the Arts provides a space where all artists can come together to share, showcase, refine and develop their talents, as well as support entrepreneurship opportunities in the arts. Located just south of Frederick and Anna Murray Douglass Park in Little Village, the original center opened in 2004 in a building owned by sculptor and entrepreneur Omar Magaña. When a fire consumed that building four years later, the community of artists, educators and community leaders rebuilt and reinvigorated the space, which today hosts art exhibits, workshops, family movie nights and other local events.

VISITOR EXPERIENCE:

Visitors may enjoy self-guided tours of OPEN's seasonal and permanent exhibitions, stage, patio, and studio. A community-based artist will also lead guests in a hands-on activity.
